‘Kippenvel’ wordt sinds mei 2007 elke dinsdagavond uitgezonden van 21:00 tot 23:00 via RTV Katwijk op FM 106.8 MHz en via de kabel op 88.1 MHz. Buiten de gemeente is het programma te horen via de websites www.rtvkatwijk.nl en www.kippenvel.net.

In dit programma staat muziek centraal die het verdient gehoord te worden. Alle gedraaide muziek is daarom ‘voorgrondmuziek’. Singer-songwriter, Americana, roots, funk, rootsrock, folk, jazz, soul, gospel of blues, ze zijn bedoeld om je te raken, niets meer en niets minder. Als dat lukt, is de aflevering geslaagd.

www.kippenvel is meer dan een site bij een rootsprogramma: de playlists, de recensies, de kort besproken interessante nieuwe releases, de columns, de korte stukjes, de concerttips, de eigentijdse klassiekers, de jaarlijstjes, de jaarlijkse Kippenvel Top Zoveel, de artiesten in Onterecht Onbekend én de nieuwtjes moeten het een plek maken om je een tijdje in rootsmuziek te verliezen.

Via www.kippenvel.net kunnen bovendien twee afleveringen worden teruggeluisterd onder het kopje ‘Gemist?’

Ruud Heijjer schrijft door Anders Osborne’s Living Room en Little Feat sinds december 2000 recensies en een column voor popmagazine Heaven, terwijl hij met vaste technicus Gerhard Kraaijenoord vanaf mei 2007 Kippenvel samenstelt en presenteert voor RTV Katwijk.

Heijjer luistert het liefst naar muziek zonder anderen om zich heen en vindt radio daarom prachtig. Zelfs dan kan het moeilijk zijn het gevoel te benaderen dat hij had toen de muziek echt indruk maakte, de eerste keer dat hij haar hoorde. Daarom halen Heijjer en Kraaijenoord met onregelmatige tussenpozen artiesten naar de studio om live op te treden en hún favorieten te draaien. Dat leidt iedere keer tot onvoorspelbare radio.

Voor Heijjer en Kraaijenoord is popmuziek geen mausoleum van gestolde herinneringen aan een of andere goede oude tijd, die bovendien ook niet heeft plaatsgevonden zoals die wordt herinnert. De popmuziek heeft de laatste jaren juist meer mooi nieuw werk opgeleverd dan ooit.

Wie dat zich al realiseert, moet zeker luisteren. Wie dat niet gelooft, moet het risico maar nemen daarvan overtuigd te raken door ook wekelijks af te stemmen. Het enige gevaar is, dat je (weer) aan popmuziek verslaafd raakt.

Ruud Heijjer has written reviews and a column for popmagazine Heaven since december 2000 because of  Anders Osborne’s Living Room and Little Feat, and has compiled and presented ‘Kippenvel’ for local public broadcaster RTV Katwijk since May 2007with his partner in music, sound engineer Gerhard Kraaijenoord.

Heijjer prefers to listen to music in the absence of others and that’s why he loves radio. Even then it can be difficult the approach the feeling that he had when the music really impressed him, the first time he heard it.

Because of that Heijjer and Kraaijenoord invite acts to come to the studio on an irregular basis to perform live and play their own favourite songs. That leads to unpredictable radio every time.

For Heijjer and Kraaijenoord pop music (as it is called in Holland) is not a mausoleum of fixed memories of distant good old days, which, on top of that, have not happened the way they are remembered. Pop music has yielded more beautiful songs than ever before the last couple of years..

Who already realizes that, should surely listen. Who does not believe that, should take the risk of getting convinced by tuning in every week too. The only danger is that you will get addicted to pop music (again).
