Acclaimed musician/producer/songwriter Steve Dawson will release 2 new albums of his work in 2008; “Waiting For The Lights To Come Up” and “Telescope”. “I decided to record two albums at once this year. It wasn’t what I set out to do originally. I was getting ready to make a record that would feature a new batch of songs that I had been writing, but at the same time, I was learning the pedal steel guitar, and had been writing ensemble-based music that would feature that instrument.”
“Proof of Love” is the follow up to Old Man Luedecke’s widely acclaimed second album Hinterland. Produced by multi Juno Award winner Steve Dawson, this recording finds the pride of Chester, Nova Scotia, well loved for the stark joyous simplicity of his powerful banjo driven solo shows, working with a full band for the first time....
Culled from several lifetimes of stories and songs and inspired by the words and music of Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Billy Joe Shaver, Shuyler Jansen has delivered this decade’s country folk classic. Opening with the slightly epic and grandiose “Pegasus”, Shuyler braids a tale of infidelity, addiction, death and broken trust, re-occurring themes that seem to encompass the ten songs on “Today’s Remains”.
