Havenstad FM, de lokale omroep van Delfzijl en Appingedam, is middels hun country – en roots programma Country File een samenwerking aangegaan met Barndance Productions uit Bierum. Deze concertpromotor werkt op een aantal kleine podia in Noord Nederland. Op één van deze podia, bij café Lanting in Meedhuizen, krijgt dit samenwerkingsverband gestalte. Vanaf half november vinden hier maandelijks concerten plaats, die volledig binnen de muzikale grenzen van Country File passen. Voorafgaand aan deze concerten is dan Country File’s Roots Café rechtstreeks vanuit deze locatie te beluisteren. De optredende artiesten van de middag zullen bij presentator Roel Stäbler aanschuiven voor een interview en om een aantal nummers live te spelen. Ook wordt de organisatiekant, de laatste muzieknieuwtjes en de stand van zaken kort voor het concert onder de loep genomen. Verder neemt Roel uiteraard zijn eigen muziek mee . Voor deze rechtstreekse uitzendingen is de bemanning van Country File’s Roots Café uitgebreid met een aantal technische mensen. Het aardige van dit concept is dat tijdens de uitzending publiek aanwezig kan zijn. Een ideale situatie is, dat de concertbezoekers de radio uitzending in zijn geheel of gedeeltelijk bij gaan wonen. Maar wil men alleen naar het concert of juist alleen de uitzending bij wonen, dan kan dat. Belangrijk is, zeggen de samenwerkende partijen, dat de roots muziek op deze manier een dag lang in de belangstelling staat. Country File Roots Café is te bezoeken en te beluisteren op de concertzondagen van 12.00 – 14.00 uur. Voor de data luistert u naar de wekelijkse studio-uitzendingen. Place to be? De eerste live uitzending van Country File's Roots Café vindt plaats op zondag 16 november met als gasten de Engelse formatie Magna Carta die momenteel, na 40 jaar "on the road" aan hun afscheisdtournee bezig zijn.
